There is no additional cost to the family beyond the standard monthly client share.
SPED: Adult day care is also covered for SPED-enrolled participants. The sliding fee scale applies — your parent's out-of-pocket portion depends on their income and family size. For parents with assets between $3,001 and $50,000 who do not qualify for Medicaid, SPED makes adult day care affordable rather than a $5,000 monthly expense.
Private pay: Families without program enrollment pay the full rate directly to the facility. Some long-term care insurance policies cover adult day care, but coverage varies widely by plan.
The Rural Availability Problem
